About Jeannie

Howdy, welcome to BuckarooTexan Blog!

I have loved horses since I was old enough to know what a horse is.  I have always had and always will have, a fasination with the horse.  I honor the horse and horsemanship by being a full time student of the horse.

I got my first pony when I turned 13.  The pony and I shared our 13th birthdays together.  Since that time I have always had at least one horse in my life.  From an early age and from watching all the trouble people had with their horses and the people that seem to work magic with there horses, I knew their was a difference  in ways to interact with horses.  I didn’t really know how to get a horse to do what I wanted but I saw alot of things that I knew didn’t work.

I raised my first colt and gave her, her first rides when I was in 8th grade.  I only got bucked off once!   I figured out my mistake.  I worked after school to  have the money to afford a horse.  I got to show my horses and my dad was always a big supporter and encouraged me to do whatever I wanted with my horses, as long as I worked and acquired my own money to do it.  I worked in the 4-H program and was able to see some good trainers occasionally and I read all the magazines and books I could find at the library.  Just hanging out with my horses for hours in the summer taught me alot.

After I married, my husband and I started our own ranch- the J Bar B, I was able to raise my own horses and devote more time to ranch horses  and  foundation Quarter horses.  I have always liked the versatility of the Quarter horse, but I admire the beauty of all breeds of horses and the special qualities they all have.  I love to help my friends and other horse lovers with their quest for better relations with their horses, helping them further their horsemanship skills.   I really enjoy helping youngsters or adults with their basic skills and developing a program to progress their skills in whatever field of horse activities they wish  to pursue.

I always wished for a coach and a mentor that was a short drive or phone call away when I was growing up, however  the distance, time and having the extra money to help me to develop my skills  always  seemed far away.

I have been very fornunate in my adult years to be able to go and study with some very gifted horseman, in person, thru media, clinics, and phone calls.   I invite you to join me in the journey of horsemanship.  I would love to share with you  the skills and knowledge I have gained  and hopefully you will find some of the wonderful experiences I have had, but maybe some of the lessons will come quicker and easier than some of mine did.  Horsemanship is a never ending  journey that just gets better and better as you go, it does take some work, some challenges and if this is a path for you, come join me!!

Maybe I can coach you to a level you never expected to achieve.  Lets see what we can accomplish!!
